FACEBOOK LIVE: THE MUSICAL!

Challenge accepted. You asked. I did it. A one-woman musical ode to online marketing, blogging, social media, and SEO in 2017. Critics are calling this “the greatest Off-Broadway marketing revue since Give My Regards to Google.”

It’s #AwkwardMarketing, Andrew Lloyd Weber style.

The Lyrics

♫ Some folks dream of the riches they’ll get
♫ Building a business on the internet
♫ Some folks think it’s a magical pill
♫ You post a status and you’ll make a cool mil
♫ Now we all know who is wrong, who is right
♫ So if you’re building a new website
♫ Then all I need is 15 minutes or so
♫ To help you think like a marketing pro
♫ We all want to perch
♫ On the top of Google search
♫ And if they click it, like it, share it
♫ Then you know
♫ You’ve got good SEO
♫ And oh by the way
♫ You can call me RKA
♫ I’m your awkward web designer and your guide
♫ For this Facebook Live
♫ The Musical

♫ I closed my tab
♫ Opened a new window
♫ To search in Google
♫ For how to boost my site
♫ It turns out the key
♫ Comes down to content
♫ Stuff that helps my audience
♫ And inbound links help too

♫ I wrote my blogs
♫ With focuskeywords
♫ And relatable topics
♫ My readers wish they knew
♫ And when they click
♫ They join my e-list
♫ With updates and hot tips
♫ And inbound links help too
♫ Yeah

♫ A viral post, a traffic spike
♫ When I write stuff my readers like
♫ It took a year before I got noticed
♫ My blog was left alone
♫ But it takes time
♫ To get web traction
♫ Just stay consistent
♫ And figure out what lands
♫ It helps to get
♫ In front of new audiences
♫ Guest posts and podcasts
♫ And inbound links help too
♫ As seen in Forbes, a million views
♫ That girl on Insta follows you, yes
♫ Experiment with different content
♫ You’ll find stuff they like

Welcome to Facebook Live The Musical. I’m so happy to have you here. I appreciate your presence, I hope you’re having a good time. This is gonna be the same great content that you love week after week on Awkward Marketing with RKA, only I’m singing it. It’s a musical extravaganza!

♫ We’re all still waiting
♫ Still hesitating
♫ And inbound links help too
♫ Inbound links, inbound links help too
♫ Inbound links
♫ I’m talking about websites, people
♫ Inbound links
♫ Inbound links help too

– Thank you for being here, I see so many of you here. I appreciate you.

♫ Inbound links help too
♫ Inbound links
♫ Inbound links
♫ Inbound links will do
♫ Inbound links will do

♫ Blogger I’ve something to tell you
♫ A story of our time
♫ A tragic but inspiring tale
♫ Of traffic in its prime
♫ You used to have thousands of views
♫ Well now that’s not quite true
♫ But feel no sorrow, do not grieve
♫ I’ll tell you what to do
♫ There’s one more website on Google
♫ 200,000 or so a day – 200,000 or so a day!
♫ You can’t cheat the system
♫ There’s no shortcut to internet fame
♫ There’s one more page up on Facebook
♫ Your cousin wants you to like
♫ Blogger if you want more page views
♫ It’s gonna take great content and time
♫ When I think of the original newsfeed
♫ A lump comes to my throat
♫ All it took to get some likes
♫ Was a photo with a quote
♫ Organic traffic to your page
♫ Will never be the same
♫ These days it takes more than a meme
♫ To land internet fame
♫ There’s one more website on Google
♫ 200,000 or so a day
♫ For a small business website to stand out
♫ It needs to consistently innovate
♫ If you build it they won’t come
♫ This ain’t no field of dreams
♫ You gotta write stuff that they like
♫ And boost it with marketing
♫ It’s the only way folks

♫ I closed my tab
♫ Opened a new window
♫ To search in Google
♫ For how to boost my site
♫ Turns out the key
♫ It comes down to content
♫ Stuff that helps my audience
♫ And inbound links help too
♫ I wrote my blogs
♫ With focused keywords
♫ And relatable topics
♫ My readers wish they knew
♫ And when they click
♫ They join my e-list
♫ With updates and hot tips
♫ And inbound links help too
♫ A viral post, a traffic spike
♫ When I write stuff my readers like
♫ It took a year before I got noticed
♫ My blog was left alone

– It’s painful guys, but I’m speaking the truth. This is a consistent game. It’s a long game, not a short game. We’re in it for the long haul. So if you’re building a small business online, trying to use tricks to shortcut the system, I hope that Facebook Live The Musical has helped to enlighten you that that’s just really not the way it works anymore, guys. It’s the long game. It’s about creating content that lands with your audience, that people resonate with. And if you’re creating content and people aren’t resonating with it, they’re not finding you online, then pivot. Change it up. That’s what it’s all about. It’s about engaging your audience, creating amazing stuff for them. And this is the finale.
