Do What You Love And The Money Will Follow? Not Necessarily…

You know that whole “do what you love and the money will follow/you’ll never work a day in your life” story? Yeah, I call bull.

Sure, it’s romantic. But, it’s also a highly privileged view of the working world. One that applies to a select few. (But THAT’S a story for another day…) In my case, entrepreneurship didn’t start as a love story. My business was a means to an end. The love came later. And, honestly, I feel lucky that the love came at all.

Sometimes, you gotta do what it takes BEFORE you do what you love. In today’s vid, I’m doing things a little differently and giving you the behind-the-scenes story of how and WHY I started my business. (Spoiler: it wasn’t for love.)

Yeah, you’ll recognize some familiar players: “quitting” my life/law school to start my biz, moving to Mexico to “change the world” (see the vid for more on that white savior nonsense), attracting my “ideal client” (when it really was the other way around).

On paper, I could position my journey as the ultimate “do what you love” case study, but the reality is MUCH different. Catch the vid for what REALLY happened when I started my biz, the painful lessons I learned along the way, and why I think “do what you love and the money will follow” is utter bullcrap.
